My First Blog!!

Wow, I am now officially a blogger!! I have been thinking of doing this for a long time and decided to take the plunge. Get ready for some fun!!

I have been gaining and losing weight for over 20 years, I should have retired by now!! At my heaviest weight, I was 240 pounds and I am now at 180 pounds. I am 43 years old and am determined to put an end to the yo-yo dieting and finally get healthy. I am determined to win this battle!!

In November of 2008, I started Medifast and became a health coach. I had tried MF in the past and was successful. I lost 30 pounds, got comfortable and fell off the wagon. The great news is that I didn't gain the weight back - the bad news is that I didn't finish the race.

I knew MF was a great program, easy, nutritionally sound and most importantly, would free me from my insane cravings for breads, sweets, and the carbs that I was addicted to. The first week was really tough, but once my body adjusted, I can honestly say that I have never felt better.

I have not stayed 100% on plan as they say in the MF world, but I have been consistent and most importantly, I have never given up. I decided that this time I was in it for the long haul - quitting was not an option. I sometimes get mad at myself because if I would have stayed 100% on plan, I would be at my goal weight by now. But, no regrets, no looking back, I am on my way!!

Becoming a health coach was the best decision I ever made. In reaching out to my clients and working with them to reach their goal, I am learning so much about myself and I know this is what has kept me in the game. I have always been an all or nothing type of gal, and I am learning through this process that there is more to life than being "on" a diet or being "off" a diet. My old life, I was either starving and crash dieting, or I was at McDonald's everyday - no in between for me. Now I am learning balance, I am learning that I can occasionally have an off plan day or weekend or sometimes a week and I don't have to kick myself or go back to my old habits. I just mix a shake and I am back on the wagon.

So, I hope you enjoy my blog, I will be honest and hopefully a little entertaining.

I would love for you to join me as I go through this incredible journey!

Until next time.....

  1. I enjoyed reading about you, maybe you can answer a question for me, I have been on MF since the first week in Feb2009, I have lost 21 pounds. My issue is that I have been at the same weight for around 14 days and never went off course. I eat what is says to, pick from low carb veggys for my lean and green meal. I exercise 6 days a week, 3 of them are with a trainer - I walk 3mph for 1 hour on the treadmill then add my own ab exercises on top of it, I sweat like crazy to. Since you have been doing this a little while, any suggestions? IF you can please email me at Hottsie37@aol.com. The name has nothing to do with what is sounds like, lol has to do with how my niece would say my name.lol Thanks for any advice.
