Wow, I can't believe it has been a month since I posted anything here. The past month has been full of trials and challenges - but I am still in the game!!
I am strictly following the 5&1 plan and am well on my way to reaching my goal. I realized this past week that I am over half way to my goal - WOO HOO! I must not lose sight of where I want to be. I struggle with being comfortable at this weight, it is easy for me to stay here. I will not quit - I WILL finish the task.

Beyond the Conditioned Mind
Beyond the Conditioned Mind
by: Paul Lowe
We each live in our own individual world. It may not look like it, but 6 billion people live in 6 billion separate realities.
The way we see and experience the world is determined by how we grew up, the attitudes, opinions, beliefs and limitations we were given. In other words, by the conditioning we received to our minds and emotions.
This conditioning effects the way in which we see things. It is as though we are looking out of a window with curved glass - everything appears distorted. This distortion is created by our conditioning.
It isn't so
We think that which we see is the way things are, but it is not so. We are actually seeing through the distortion of our conditioned mind and this puts a spin on to our whole life and how we perceive ourselves. It is a huge handicap and certainly prevents us from reaching our maximum potential.
When we begin to disconnect from our mind and its fixed opinions an unexplainable mystery happens - life gets easier and better and better. Everything starts to click into place. Anger and judgment dissipate, a feeling of freedom descends and a gentle peace starts to permeate our whole being.
With that phenomenon comes another phase that keeps us moving and growing. We begin to recognise that life presents us with what we need to evolve into our greatest potential as a human being.
To take advantage of this possibility: be more adventurous, experiment, take a few risks. More aliveness happens in unpredictable situations. You only have one short life, and this is it. Live it to the full and don't take it too seriously. Have fun!
Action
What is your conditioning? Identify ways in which your perception is distorted.
Think of one risk you can take this week.
Take that risk, in a spirit of adventure.

Do Something!
You cannot do everything, but you can do something.
Only you can make it happen.
No one can do it for you.
No one will do it for you.
Always accept the responsibility for your actions.
Always set a higher standard for yourself.
Choose the thoughts and actions that will lead
you on to success.
Your success is but a determined action away...
Only you can make it happen.

172!!!!!!!
I finally broke my 175 block. I have gotten to 175 many times since I started MF, but once I would hit 175, I would relax and become complacent. I decided to 'mess with my head' a little and I put the scale away for 2 weeks. It worked!!
I woke up this morning at 172 - woo hoo!! I am going to put the scale away for another two weeks and hope for 169. At 160, I get my new Louis Vuitton bag and I can't wait!! I am going to St. Louis the first of June for a health coach conference and I would love to be able to purchase the bag by then - so although that will be 12 lbs in a month - I am going to go for it!!!
I can do this - I AM doing this!!!

Transformation
"A real transformation begins on the inside, not in a bottle or a package. The magic is sitting inside you, just waiting to be let out. The transformation is a learning process, one that comes from realizing you control your destiny, and that you can accomplish whatever you decide you're going to accomplish."
"Make the decision, then do something - no matter how small - toward accomplishing what you want."
Good Morning, I wish you all an amazing day today. I found this quote and thought it fit our situation perfectly. Medifast is an incredible tool to help get us to our goal weight, but ultimately, it is up to each and every one of us to dig deep inside and commit to the program.
Believe you are worth it, believe you can do it, believe you deserve. It is much easier to fix the external, but we must also work on the internal. If you have negative feeling, try and turn them around. Please don't get caught up in negative self talk, self sabatouge and doubt. Have faith, know that you can and you will!
So, get up, mix a shake and conquer today, you are strong, you are mighty, you are a warrior and you will win this battle!!!
Blessing to you all!

"Life affords no higher pleasure, than that of surmounting difficulties, passing from one step of success to another, forming new wishes, and seeing them gratified.
He that labors in any great or laudable undertaking, has his fatigues first supported by hope, and afterwards rewarded by joy; he is always moving to a certain end, and when he has attained it, an end more distant invites him to a new pursuit."
Good morning!
Today’s motivation relates to those who are in the first stages of transformation as well as those who are struggling in any area of their lives.
We all know the first few days of the MF program can be quite challenging. I believe we must rely on hope and faith to get us through those first days, and afterward, we truly will be rewarded by joy and a sense of great accoomplishment.
The joys of feeling strong, the joys of feeling confident, the joys of feeling lean, the joys of waking up refreshed and ready to conquer the day. The joys of knowing that we are truly accomplishing something amazing, something life changing.
Take a moment and dare to dream of how you will feel at your goal weight, what will you be wearing, where will you be, how will you feel? Think of all the ways your weight has held you back, all the things you did not do because you were too tired, to self-conscience, to fearful. Now, imagine yourself at your goal weight, full of energy, feeling strong and confident and ready to conquer everything in your path.
Allow yourself to really feel how amazing it will be at your goal. How awesome is that!!!
Believing in you and all that you can be,
Janell

Keep Going
Keep Going
On the other side of the challenge there is a great reward. Keep going.
When you've made the effort and cannot yet see the result, keep going. The very next step could be the one that brings you across the finish line.
When you become weary, remind yourself why you started in the first place. Connect with your true purpose, and feel the energy begin to flow through you again.
Smile and laugh and have a good time on the journey. Be kind and considerate, thoughtful and helpful, and your load will feel lighter, your steps will come more quickly.
As long as you keep going, every inch of progress will make you stronger. Every moment will bring you closer to the goal.
Consider what a joy and a privilege it is to be able to make a difference. Feel that joy, keep going, and make your world brighter with each step you take.

Rough Day!!
Good news, I lost 3 of the 7 pounds I gained in one day - Medifast is a miracle!!! The bad news, today was a really tough day. Don't worry, I stayed on plan, but it was a battle all day long.
I had MAP testing today with my kids - which we all hate. I bribed them with McDonalds to get a couple more hours of testing out of them. I am a McDonalds junkie - it is definately my drug of choice. I fought with myself all the way to McDonalds and even as I was sitting in the drive thru ordering the double cheeseburgers - my favorite!!! It wasn't until I had paid and left the parking lot did I feel I was out of the danger zone. Why do I want to eat that poisen???
Once home from work, the headache started and intense hunger. I had a snack of romaine lettuce leaf with deli roast beef and it got me to dinner of a grilled chicken kabob. Detox is hell. I still have a headache, I am seeing strange spots and I feel horrible. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.
For any of you who are just starting out on the plan, don't worry, it doesn't last long, just a few days - but wow, it takes a lot to get through those first few days. I have done this enough times to know that it is worth sticking with it - no turning back. One more day and I will be out of the woods.

I'm A Broken Vessel
I am a Broken Vessel. I surrender, I am powerless and I can no longer carry this burden alone. I have just spent the past four nights watching my husband perforn in the passion play at my church. This was truely a life changing experience for me.
As I watched my Savior suffer and die on the cross, I became so overwhelmed with emotion, it was almost unbearable. I have never felt such sorrow. I felt so ashamed of myself, as I have done so little compared to what my Savior has done to me. I began to think about my body and the way I have taken it for granted - the way I have abused it with food. My guilt was overwhelming.
During the intermission of today's performance, the video I'm A Broken Vessel was played. Here are the lyrics to the song.
“I’m a Broken Vessel, In Need of You” David Oldfield, Potter’s House Church of God
Lord, I’ve come to You With everything I am
Take me in Your hands And mold me into Your plan
I am willing and waiting To give You what You want from me
So Lord, lead me and guide me to the place I need to be
I’m a broken vessel in need of You
Purify my heart Make me white as the snow
I’m not worthy of Your grace Through Your love I’ll see Your face
I am willing and waiting To give You what You want from me
So Lord, lead me and guide me to the place I need to be
I’m a broken vessel in need of You
Take my hand in Yours, oh Lord And You wash me with Your blood, yeah
And You be glorified in me,
oh And You open my eyes to see
I am willing and waiting To give You what You want from me
So Lord, lead me and guide me to the place I need to be
I’m a broken vessel in need of You In need of You
I’m a broken vessel, In need of You
I have somehow gained seven pounds in the past 5 days - I can no longer do this alone. I have been stubborn and prideful and felt that I had the power to do this - I was wrong. I am willing and waiting and will give God what he wants from me so that He will guide me to the place I need to be.
As a health coach, I am ashamed of myself for not leading a better example for my wonderful acceptance clients - I feel so unworthy. I am tired of gaining and losing, tired of being tired, tired of fighting this battle alone. I am surrendering this weight to God and will follow and listen to Him as He leads me through this journey. As I am writing this, I feel a sense of hope, a sense of peace that I can and that I will see this through. I am going to restore my body to the amazing temple that He created.

Why You Must
If you wish to get something done, stop telling yourself why you can't. Begin telling yourself why you must.
Of course there are obstacles to every achievement. Yet you can work through any obstacle when you have a clear and compelling reason to do so.
Zero in on that reason. Make it your priority to keep that reason ever present in your thoughts.
Though the challenges may be powerful, you can always make your purpose even more powerful. Keep telling yourself, again and again, why you must.
Make a solid connection between your actions and your purpose. That will cause your effectiveness to soar.
Remember always why you must. And you will.

HMMM.... Should I have Reeces Peanut Butter Egg???
Well, Easter is fast approaching and I have yet to indulge in a Reeces Peanut Butter Egg. This is my all time favorite candy - the undisputed champion!!! Our wonderful Super Babes group on the MF discussion boards had a lovely discussion last night regarding these little bundles of joy - it is almost impossible to escape them this time of year.
I have had a wonderful day, and have been blessed by my wonderful health coach clients - my ladies are amazing. One of the reasons I became a health coach was to give myself some accountability - to keep me on the straight and narrow - and they do. I appreciate them all so much. But, it is the REECES PEANUT BUTTER EGG!!!
I have made it another day without giving in to the temptation, but will I be strong tomorrow - there are many days between now and Easter.
What to do??????????

Consequences
Celebrate the Consequences
Do you pay a price for your actions, or do you reap great rewards from them? Do you fear the consequences of what you do, or do you eagerly await those consequences?
It all depends on the actions you take. The destination at which you arrive is determined by the direction in which you most consistently travel.
Instead of cursing the negative consequences, simply avoid the actions that cause them. Instead of wistfully wishing in vain for the things you seek, just take the actions that will bring those things into your life.
Everything in your life is the result of one thing or another. You can't avoid consequences, yet you can determine which ones you get.
Put yourself in a position to celebrate the consequences. With positive purpose, focus, effort and persistence the very best of life's results can be yours.
Most of what happens to you happens because of you. Use your actions to move solidly toward those consequences that you'll delight in celebrating.
-- Ralph Marston
Wow, this was a 'smak me in the face' reality check this morning. Life is all about consequences, but I don't think I had ever thought of consequences as been good. I always think of a consequence as a negative, like when you mom tells you "go ahead, and you will face the consequences". I am a teacher and I teach kids in a residential rehab facility. When the kids break rules - they are give a 'con' or a consequence. So, I don't think I am alone in my thoughts that consequences are bad!
But WOW, what a unique and positive way to think about consequences. How awesome is it to think of celebrating my consequences - I love this!! I want to reap great rewards for my actions, not pay the price. I am in control of my consequences ad I choose to determine every consequence.
The ultimate consequence will be to reach my goal!!!

My Favorite Scripture
Philippians 1:6 (New International Version)
"being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus".
This has been a favorite of mine from way back in my church camp days. It is amazing to me, that even at a young age, this scripture touched me. I was at junior camp one year and the speaker gave a sermon based on this scripture. Even back then, I had a sense that God had an amazing plan for my life, and He would never give up on me.
Well, here I am, 43 years old and I am so grateful that He has never given up on me. I do not deserve His amazing Grace and Mercy, but I am so blessed to have it. I know that He began a good work in g me and He will be faithful to complete me - I am a masterpiece in the making!

Every Richness
What is the most positive, wonderful thing you can imagine for yourself, for your life, for the ones you love, for the world in which you live? As soon as you can imagine it, you're well on the way to making it a reality.
If it were impossible there would be no way you could even conceive of it. Live with the knowledge and the assurance that the best you can imagine is indeed available to you, and is indeed possible for you.
You are filled with valuable experience. The things you've done and learned and seen and lived through have left behind a unique, powerful substance of experience that is yours alone.
It would be a shame for all that to go to waste. It is yours to make use of, yours to build upon, and yours with which to grow.
Though you cannot live in the past, you can draw from the value you created there. Invest today's actions with the wealth of experience you've accumulated, and that investment will immediately begin to pay dividends.
Live your passion, do your dream, and feel wonderfully alive in each moment. This life is now yours, so experience in it every richness you can imagine.

My First Blog!!
Wow, I am now officially a blogger!! I have been thinking of doing this for a long time and decided to take the plunge. Get ready for some fun!!
I have been gaining and losing weight for over 20 years, I should have retired by now!! At my heaviest weight, I was 240 pounds and I am now at 180 pounds. I am 43 years old and am determined to put an end to the yo-yo dieting and finally get healthy. I am determined to win this battle!!
In November of 2008, I started Medifast and became a health coach. I had tried MF in the past and was successful. I lost 30 pounds, got comfortable and fell off the wagon. The great news is that I didn't gain the weight back - the bad news is that I didn't finish the race.
I knew MF was a great program, easy, nutritionally sound and most importantly, would free me from my insane cravings for breads, sweets, and the carbs that I was addicted to. The first week was really tough, but once my body adjusted, I can honestly say that I have never felt better.
I have not stayed 100% on plan as they say in the MF world, but I have been consistent and most importantly, I have never given up. I decided that this time I was in it for the long haul - quitting was not an option. I sometimes get mad at myself because if I would have stayed 100% on plan, I would be at my goal weight by now. But, no regrets, no looking back, I am on my way!!
Becoming a health coach was the best decision I ever made. In reaching out to my clients and working with them to reach their goal, I am learning so much about myself and I know this is what has kept me in the game. I have always been an all or nothing type of gal, and I am learning through this process that there is more to life than being "on" a diet or being "off" a diet. My old life, I was either starving and crash dieting, or I was at McDonald's everyday - no in between for me. Now I am learning balance, I am learning that I can occasionally have an off plan day or weekend or sometimes a week and I don't have to kick myself or go back to my old habits. I just mix a shake and I am back on the wagon.
So, I hope you enjoy my blog, I will be honest and hopefully a little entertaining.
I would love for you to join me as I go through this incredible journey!
Until next time.....
